Freeplay Mountain Bike Escapes & Clinics
Sedona is located at the lower end of Arizona’s spectacular Oak Creek Canyon, renowned for its stunning red buttes and monoliths, as well as its surrounding lush forests. Sedona is located in both Coconino and Yavapai Counties and is completely surrounded by the Coconino National Forest.
If you haven’t been to Sedona to ride this is your chance! There are easy routes like Bell Rock Pathway for beginners just looking to enjoy Sedona’s trails or just get out into the red rocks. There are also flowy, fast sand and slickrock single tracks, like Llama Trail, for the intermediate-advance mountain biker as well as sketchy high and tight technical routes like Made in the Shade for advanced riders.

Bell Rock Pathway: Smooth and wide beginner trail. Perfect way to experience mountain biking in Sedona if you are just getting started.
Mescal: Intermediate trail composed of a fun and flowy red dirt trail with some short rocky climbs. Contain short sections of steps and boulders to challenge you and test your new skills.
Chuck Wagon: This intermediate trail contours in and out of slickrock washes. There are a couple technical sections that require a few hard pedal strokes to navigate some rock steps before getting back to swoopy trail. The middle part of the trail is a gradual climb and descent through the intersection with Brinns Mesa trail. The route levels out and heads south after a quick punchy climb up a section of exposed slickrock. From here the trail twists and turns through the pinion/juniper forest towards Long Canyon. Although there are few sections of the descent that are loose and rocky, the route is fun and fast.
Lodging is not included but single or double room accommodations are available at the Red Agave Resort, Wildflower Inn and the Holiday Inn Express.
