Freeplay Mountain Bike Escapes & Clinic

If you are looking to escape the summer heat, get out of the city for the day or prepare for upcoming Xterra or mountain race then this half-day camp is for you! Held at the Tahoe Donner Resort, it is the perfect place to learn some new mountain bike skills in the morning and cool off at Donner Lake after the clinic.
The Truckee half-day skills clinic starts with a small group skills session followed by a short lunch break. After lunch riders will be grouped by skill and coaches will differentiate instruction based on the needs of the riders. Beginner and intermediate coached rides available. Riders of all levels are encouraged to attend.

Cost: $50 (Includes: Skills session, coached ride, goodie bag, t-shirt and post-ride snacks & mingling)
All riders will meet at outside of Bike Works at Tahoe Donner for check-in and pre-ride tips. From here we will ride to where the skills sessions will take place. After the skills session we will take a quick lunch break before breaking into groups and head out with a coach for the ride. Pace and focus of the rides will vary depending on the level of each group. All riders will meet back at Tahoe Donner for post-ride refreshments and Q&A. Riders can either pack at lunch or purchase food at the Alder Creek Cafe.
Trail Description: Tahoe Donner has 60+ miles of trails and fire service roads, covering 3,474 acres of scenic, wild terrain. The trail system offers a variety of terrain, from the level meadow trails to high scenic vista points above Donner Lake. Trails range in difficulty from less technical trails with gradual turns and long lines of sight to those with steep grades on narrow tread with obstacles and quick turns.
What to Bring:
- Bike (rentals available from Bike Works at Tahoe Donner)
- Pedals (Flat or clip-ins)
- Bike Shoes depending on the type of pedals you bring or have
- Helmet
- Sunglasses (optional but suggested)
- Gloves
- Padded shorts
- Water bottle or hydration pack
- Snack for the ride
- Bike tools and an extra tube
- Warm clothes for after the ride
