Hamilton, MT – Femme Velo enters the women’s cycling apparel market this week with their Alfonsina Collection that includes jersey, sock, and cap. Femme Velo is currently known for its annual women’s cycling event that takes place in Whitefish, MT.

“We want to make it easy for women to get out and be a part of the sport through local rides hosted by our FV Ambassadors, at our annual event in Montana each summer, and through our women’s club on Strava. The clothing line is an extension of that, and something that has been part of our long-term planning from the beginning” says Nicole Adamson founder and CEO.

Femme Velo apparel is committed to creating beautiful pieces that offer superior fit and performance. “We spent a lot of time sampling and testing fabrics, and working with our manufacturing partner to create a fit that was meant for a woman’s body and that will allow her to feel comfortable on and off the bike,” says Ms. Adamson. “We’re for every woman who has walked into a bike shop or shopped online and been underwhelmed by the lack of choices. With our collections we offer the highest quality Italian fabrics, superior performance and fit, and a modern, fun style. We don’t think you have to choose style over substance or vice versa.”

Femme Velo has always been inspired by the storied past of cycling, which customers will see reflected in the collections, the first of which is named for Alfonsina Strada, the only woman to have raced the Giro d’Italia. A second collection due February 2017 will be named in honor of Annie Londonderry. “It’s not only a nod to the sport, but I think it’s important for women to see that we’re connected to something bigger than ourselves. When we ride our bikes we’re honoring those women who were brave enough to rebel against the prevailing sentiment once upon a time that women should not ride bikes, or to women like Strada who paved the way for women racing their bikes today,” says Ms. Adamson.

Femme Velo apparel will be available to it’s customers via their online boutique, at pop-up shops, at their annual event in Whitefish, MT., July 1-3, and at Great Northern Cycle and Ski, also in Whitefish, MT. An Alfonsina bib will be available for customers to pre-order later this summer. Femme Velo hopes to be in fine bicycle shops across the U.S. and Internationally as the line grows.
