Building up for a Half Marathon: Week 8

It’s the final week before race prep! The focus of this workout is to complete a series of 800m cruise intervals at half marathon goal pace to prep the body for racing.

  • WU 15-20 minutes include 4-5 x 100m fast stride-outs
  • 10 x 800m at half marathon race pace effort
  • 200m moderate jog recovery between at long run pace

Mackenzie has been competing in triathlon for over 16 years and coaching for over 8 years. Mackenzie also races as an elite cyclist and ran Division I Cross Country and Track during her undergraduate at Iowa State University. She has her Masters in Exercise Physiology from the University of Oregon in Eugene where she currently resides.
