It felt like just yesterday that I was ringing in the New Year and now I already have two races under my belt and two more around the corner. If you read my Editor’s Note in the latest issue of Freeplay magazine you already know that I haven’t mapped out my races this season like I have every other and it is refreshing. I have put in some solid run weeks and am happy to report that I am finding my fitness…finally! I am looking forward to an upcoming 5k at Sactown 10 and then a possible ½ marathon at the beginning of June beyond that the options are endless.

In between all these run miles I am starting to enjoy some consistency on two wheels again. Mixing it up between the road, the trainer and my mountain bike definitely keeps riding fresh and fun. I am only three weeks in to bike training but it feels good to be back at it.

So while I can’t pinpoint the exact races I am doing this season, I can say that you should expect to see me running on the roads, gutting it out on the mountain bike on the trails, sprinting to the finish on my paddle board and scaling a wall or two at a Spartan race.

The best part of not having all your races selected is nothing is ruled out…yet! I have a few races in the back of my mind but I would love to hear suggestions from you! I am always looking for new events to add to my calendar!

What are your favorites races and events? Please share them with me via social media.

Thanks for reading and thank you to Salming Running, Liv Cycling USA, Folsom Bike, Sacramento Running Association, Fluid, Hoffart Chiropractic, Nature’s Bakery, Roka and Rudy Project for supporting me and ALL women in sport!
